There is hereby established a body to be known and called as the PENTECOSTAL LIFE CHURCH INTERNATIONAL formerly PENTECOSTAL HOLY CHURCH(hereinafter called ‘’THE CHURCH’’) which traces its origins to the ministry of the late RT.Rev Bishop Edward Christian Tchie began on 16th January,1954 after he separated from the Assemblies of God Church.
DOCTRINAL BELIEFS OF THE CHURCH
The basic doctrinal beliefs of the Church which are TENETS OF FAITH are based on the Holy Scriptures and shall be an essential basis of the fellowship and union of members thereof:
2.1. THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments are authoritative and inspired of God.
(1 Thess. 2: 13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
2.2 THE ONE TRUE GOD
The Church believes in the existence of the “One True God”, the Creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of humanity. The Bible reveals emphatically and repeatedly God as triune; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1- 26, Deut. 6:4, Isa.43:10-11; Matt. 28:19,Acts 5:3-4, Eph.1:17; Heb. 1:8)
2.3 THE DEPRAVITY OF MAN
We believe in the depravity of human nature, the necessity for repentance,regeneration and subject to eternal Judgement. (Gen.2:17; 3:1-19; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:23)
2.4 SALVATION
We believe in the virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and abiding intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ.( Matt.1: 21; Acts 2:36, Philippians 2:6-11, Lk.1:25-26, Jn.8:46, Romans. 3:25, 1Cor. 15:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, Heb. 7:25)
2.5 REPENTANCE, JUSTIFICATION AND SANCTIFICATION
We believe in the repentance, justification and sanctification of the believer through the finished work of Christ. (LK.15:7; Jn. 17:2-3; Acts 2:38; 3:19; Rom. 4:25; 5:1; 6:23)
2.6 BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER
We believe in the sacraments of Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as an ordinance given to Christians by our Lord Jesus Christ before His death.( Matt. 3:16; 28:19; Acts 2:38)
2.7 GIVING
We believe in all Biblical forms of giving in support of God’s work such as tithing, freewill offerings and other sacrificial giving in support and expansion of God’s Kingdom. (Mal. 3:6-10; Acts 20:35; 1Cor. 16:1-2; 2Cor.9:1-9)
2.8 BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, GIFTS AND FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with initial evidence of speaking in tongues, signs following, the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit for edification, exhortation and comfort of the church, which is the body of Christ.( Acts 2:3-4,38-39; Roms.12:6-8; 1Cor. 12:8-11; 28-30)
2.9 DIVINE HEALING
We believe in divine healing, that is,people can receive and be healed in all forms of sicknesses, infirmities and diseases by God through His power. However we do not also neglect or oppose orthodox medication.(Isa.53:3-4; Mk 16:17-18; James 5:14-16)
2.10 SECOND COMING AND ETERNAL JUDGEMENT OF CHRIST
We believe in the Second Coming and Millennial reign upon earth and Eternal Judgement of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; Acts 10:42; Mk.13:26)
