ARTICLE 13 EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT
13.1 ESTABLISHMENT
There shall be established an evangelistic group of the Church to be known as the Christian Soldiers Movement. It shall hold meetings at least once a week.
13.1.1 MEMBERSHIP
The Christian Soldiers Movement shall be open to all members of the Church.
13.2 FUNCTIONS
a) To carry out Evangelistic programmes such as preaching, witnessing, winning and disciplining of souls
b) To encourage Church members to take part fully in all the programmes and activities of the Church and further expose them to the various ministries within the Church.
c) To afford the members of the Church the opportunity to plan and organize programmes and activities for evangelism in villages, towns and cities.
d) It shall also carry out such other functions as the General Council or Executive Council may assign it.
13.3 EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The administration of the Evangelistic Movement shall be governed by seven (7) Executive Committee Members made up of two (2) ministers, three (3) elders and two deacons.
13.3.1 APPOINTMENT
The National Executive Council shall with the approval of the General Council, appoint the Evangelistic Movement Executive Committee as follows:
a) An experienced minister as full-time Evangelistic Movement Director
b) A minister as deputy Evangelistic Movement Director
c) Three experienced elders
d) Two deacons.
13.4 FUNCTIONS OF THE EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT DIRECTOR
(a) He shall be responsible for the day to day administration of the Evangelism Ministry
(b)He shall chair the Evangelism Ministry Executive Committee meetings
(c) He shall prepare and carry out the Ministry’s programmes
(d)He shall implement decisions of the General Council, the National Executive Council and the Ministry’s Executive Committee
(e) He shall prepare the movement’s Agenda for meetings
(f) It is his sole responsibility to plan programmes for evangelism in cities, towns and villages
(g) He shall direct affairs during the Ministry’s Leadership meetings and other related activities of the Ministry
(h) He shall perform such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Ministry’s Executive Committee or the General Superintendent of the Church
(i) He shall provide study material for the ministry.
(j)He shall report on the state of the Ministry to the General Council through the Executive Council.
(k) He shall be accountable to the General Superintendent of the Church.
13.5 FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPUTY EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT DIRECTOR
a. He shall act for the Movement Director in his absence
b. He shall assist the Evangelistic Movement Director in discharging his functions
c. He shall perform such other functions as directed by the Executive Committee of the Movement.
13.6 TERM OF OFFICE
The evangelism ministry Director, the deputy, and all other members shall hold office for four (4) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.7 REGIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
There shall be established an evangelistic movement in all the regions of the country.The day to day administration of the movement shall be governed by a seven (7) member Executive Committee appointed by the Regional Executive Council on the Regional Executive Committee’s recommendation.
13.7.2 MEMBERSHIP OF REGIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
a) Regional Evangelistic Movement Leader
b) Assistant Regional Evangelistic Movement Leader
c) Two (2) Elders one of whom shall be secretary
d) Two (2) Deacons
e) One Deaconess
13.7.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Leader, Assistant and all other members shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.8 REGIONAL EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT DIRECTOR (CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS)
Two (2) Ministers shall be appointed as Regional Leader and Assistant Regional Evangelistic Movement Leader respectively.
13.8.1 APPOINTMENT
The Regional Evangelistic Movement Leader and his assistant shall be appointed by the Regional Executive Council on the recommendation of the Regional Executive Committee.
13.8.2 FUNCTIONS OF THE REGIONAL EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT DIRECTOR
(a) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall be accountable to the Regional Executive Council through the Regional Superintendent for the day to day administration of the movement in the Region
(b)The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall chair meetings of the movement
(c) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall plan for the execution of the following programmes: evangelism, discipleship and leadership training in places, towns and cities nationwide.
(d)The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall ensure the implementation of all decisions of the General Council, NEC and his Ministry’s Executive Committee.
(e) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall prepare the Agenda for Evangelistic Ministry Executive Committee meetings
(f) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall direct affairs during the Ministry’s Leadership meetings and other related activities of the Ministry
(g) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall perform such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Ministry’s Executive Committee or the General Superintendent of the Church
(h) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall be the liaison officer between the church and other evangelistic bodies in the Para-churches and other Christian organizations
(j) The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall be accountable to the General Superintendent of the Church
(k)The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director shall report on the state of the Ministry to the General Council through the Executive Council.
13.8.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Regional Evangelistic Movement Director and his Assistant shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and may be reviewed for further terms
13.9 DISTRICT EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS)
13.9.1 APPOINTMENT
The day to day administration of the District Evangelistic Movement shall be governed by a five member Executive Committee. They shall be recommended for appointment by the District Executive Committee to the District Executive Council.
13.9.2 COMPOSITION OR MEMBERSHIP OF COMMITTEE
a) District Evangelistic Movement Leader
b) An assistant
c) Two (2) deacons and one (1) deaconess one of whom shall be secretary.
13.9.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Leader, Assistant and all other members shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.10 DISTRICT EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT LEADER
A competent and reputable Elder shall be appointed the leader of the movement. He shall have an assistant.
13.10.1 APPOINTMENT
District Evangelistic Movement Leader and his assistant shall be recommended for appointment to the District Executive Council by the District Executive Committee.
13.10.2 FUNCTIONS
a) He shall supervise the movement in the district.
b) He shall communicate all relevant matters with the consent of the district pastor to the regional evangelistic director
c) He shall be responsible for the preparation of programmes for the district movement’s meetings in consultation with the district pastor
13.10.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The District Evangelistic Movement Leader and his Assistant shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.11 LOCAL EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
13.11.1 APPOINTMENT
The day to day administration of the Local Evangelistic Movement shall be administered by a five member Executive Committee appointed by the Local Church Board
13.11.2 COMPOSITION OR MEMBERSHIP OF COMMITTEE
d) Local Evangelistic Movement Leader
e) An assistant
f) Three (3) others including a female.
13.11.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Leader, Assistant and all other members shall hold office for a term of two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.12 LOCAL EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT LEADER
There shall be a local Evangelistic movement leader who shall have an assistant.
13.12.1 APPOINTMENT
The local Evangelistic Movement Leader and his assistant shall be appointed by the Local Church Board
13.12.2 FUNCTIONS
a) He shall supervise the movement in the Local Assembly.
b) He shall communicate all relevant matters with the consent of the Local Pastor to the District Leader
c) He shall be responsible for the preparation of programmes for the Local Movement’s meetings in consultation with the Local Pastor
13.12.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Local Evangelistic Movement Leader and his Assistant shall hold office for two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
13.13 FINANCE
Offering will be taken during meetings. The General Council of the Church shall determine from time to time a percentage of the offering that they should pay into the central fund. Sacrificial giving and donation will be encouraged.
