ARTICLE 15 PENTECOSTAL LIFE MEN’S FELLOWSHIP
15.1 ESTABLISHMENT
There shall be established a Pentecostal Life Men’s Fellowship (PELMEF) to cater for the interest of all the men in the Church.
15 .2 FUNCTIONS
(a)To organize seminars, workshops, lectures and symposia on all aspects of life including:
Marriage enrichment, husband’s responsibilities at home, child care and education
Business management and techniques
Leadership and responsibility in the Church and the State
Current affairs at both national and international levels
The teaching of basic principles of domestic Law e.g. the making of Wills and Agreements for the purchasing of real estate and personal property
(b) Other specialized men related ministries
(c) Such other functions as the General Council or the Executive Council may assign it.
15 .3 MEETINGS
They shall have meetings at least once a week.
15 .4 NATIONAL PELMEF EXECUTIVE
The Pentecostal Life Men’s Fellowship shall be governed by a seven (7) member Executive Committee, made up of two (2) Ministers, three (3) Elders and two (2) Deacons.
15.5 APPOINTMENT OF NATIONAL PELMEF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Council shall with the approval of the General Council appoint seven able men to serve on the PELMEF Executive Committee, as the following:
(a) An experienced Minister as PELMEF Director and he shall be the Chairman of the Fellowship
(b) A Deputy PELMEF Director who shall be an Elder of good repute
(c) One (1) minister
(d) Two(2) elders.
(e) Two (2)good repute deacons
15.6 FUNCTION OF THE PELMEF DIRECTOR
(a) He shall be the Chairman of the Fellowship.
(b) He shall be responsible for the day to day administration of the Fellowship
(c) He shall chair the Men’s Fellowship Executive Committee meetings
(d) He shall have general supervision of the PELMEF
(e) He shall submit the Men’s Fellowship general reports to the General Council through the General Superintendent of the Church.
(f) He may assign to the PELMEF Deputy Director such duties as he deems necessary
(g) He shall be accountable to the General Superintendent of the Church.
(h) He shall be responsible for the preparation of the PELMEF Syllabus.
15 .7 FUNCTIONS OF THE PELMEF DEPUTY DIRECTOR
(a) He shall assist the PELMEF Director in the supervision of the Men’s Fellowship
(b) He shall act for the PELMEF Director at meetings and other functions when he is absent.
(c) He shall perform such functions as shall be assigned to him by thePELMEF Director or the PELMEF Executive Committee
15 .8 TERM OF OFFICE
The term of office of the PELMEF Director, the PELMEF Deputy Director and all other Executive Members shall be four (4) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
15.9 REGIONAL PELMEF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
15.9.1 APPOINTMENT
The day to day administration of the Regional PELMEF shall be governed by a seven-member Executive Committee appointed by the Regional Executive Council on the recommendation of the Regional Executive Committee
15.9.2 MEMBERSHIP
(a)REGIONAL PELMEF Leader
(b) Assistant REGIONAL PELMEF Leader
(c) Three (3) Reputable Elders
(d) Two (2)Reputable Deacons
15.9.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Leader, Assistant and all other members shall hold office for a term of two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
15.10 REGIONAL PELMEF LEADER
A Minister shall be appointed as a REGIONAL PELMEF Leader. He shall be assisted by an Elder.
15.10.1 APPOINTMENT
The REGIONAL PELMEF Leader and his Assistant shall be appointed by the Regional Executive Council on the recommendation of the Regional Executive Committee and the Ministers.
15.10.2 FUNCTIONS
(a)He shall have general supervision of the PELMEF in the Region (b) He shall work in consultation with the Regional Superintendent and report to the Regional Executive Council.
15.10.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The term of office of the REGIONAL PELMEF Leader and his Assistant shall be two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms
15.11 DISTRICT PELMEF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
15.11.1 APPOINTMENT
The day to day administration of the District PELMEF shall be governed by a five-member Executive appointed by the District Executive Council on the recommendation of the District Executive Committee.
15.11.2 MEMBERSHIP
(a) District PELMEF Leader
(b) Assistant District PELMEF Leader
(c) Two (2) Elders
(d) One (1) Deacon.
15.11.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Leader, Assistant and all other members shall hold office for a term of two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms
15.12 DISTRICT PELMEF LEADER
An Elder shall be appointed as a District PELMEFLeader.He shall have an Assistant.
15.12.1 APPOINTMENT
The District PELMEF Leader and his Assistant shall be appointed by the District Executive Council on the recommendation of District Executive Committee.
15.12.2 FUNCTIONS
(a)He shall supervise the work of the PELMEF in the District
(b)He shall report through the District Minister
(c)He shall see to the teaching of the men the word of God and the lessons in the PELMEF syllabus
(d)He shall be responsible for the preparation of programmes for PELMEF meetings in consultation with the District Minister.
15.12.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The term of office shall be three (3) years and may be reviewed for further terms
15.13 LOCAL PELMEF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
15.13.1 APPOINTMENT
The day to day administration of the local PELMEF shall be administered by a five-member Executive Committee appointed by the Local Church Board.
15.13.2 MEMBERSHIP
(a)Local PELMEF Patron
(b)Local PELMEF Leader
(c)Assistant Local PELMEF Leader
(d)Two (2) other members
15.13.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The Patron, The Leader, Assistant Leader and other members shall hold office for a term of two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
15.14 LOCAL PELMEF LEADER
15.14.1 APPOINTMENT
The Local PELMEF eader and his Assistant shall be appointed by the Local Church Board and they shall be accountable to the Local Church Board.
15.14.2 FUNCTIONS
(a)He shall co-operate with the Local Church Board and with the Minister to discharge his duties
(b)He shall take charge of the Local PELMEF meetings
(c) He shall see to the teaching of the Word of God and the lessons in PELMEF syllabus.
15.14.3 TERM OF OFFICE
The term of office shall be two (2) years and may be reviewed for further terms.
15.14.4 FINANCE
Freewill offerings shall be taken at meetings. A percentage determined by the General Council from time to time shall be paid into the Central Fund.
